Tom Coupart, ATC, LAT
Having been a 3 season athlete throughout high school and playing soccer through college, my career was riddled by injury and adversity. While in high school I hurt my back and lost playing time as well as several scholarship opportunities. At the time of these injuries our school did not have an ATC. During my senior year we finally got one, and he inspired me.
Our new ATC helped shape my life goals to help others like myself, and give them the opportunities that I missed due to injury. I attended college at SUNY Cortland where I graduated with honors and quickly got certified as an Athletic Trainer. I had an opportunity to work with the NY Jets, but decided to attend graduate school at Armstrong State University in Savannah GA.
After working several years in the Savannah area, an opportunity in Winter Park opened up and led me to beautiful sunny Central Florida. A soccer coaching opportunity introduced me to ATCs at CORA who welcomed me into the ActiveTracks family here.
Eight years later, I moved from PRN, to PT, and now oversee the Central FL region of ActiveTracks. CORA has granted me opportunities to learn, grow and lead. Without the opportunities granted to me at CORA, I do not know where I would be. I confidently and proudly say I am a CORA Athletic Trainer and represent ATCs everywhere. Never lose sight of the dream and embrace change wherever and however it comes.
