It’s July – Bring on the fireworks, the Summer fun, and PSC Month!
Written by Ashley Pastore, Customer Experience Manager at CORA Physical Therapy
At CORA Physical Therapy, our goal is to help patients recover, get back to work, return to sport, and enjoy a pain free life. But that all starts through a conversation with one of our Patient Service Coordinators (PSC).
The PSC may only have one title yet performs countless jobs. Along with scheduling and communication, they are processing extremely detailed paperwork relating to patients’ medical history, financial, and personal information.
What do Patient Service Coordinators Do?
PSCs receive calls, reschedule appointments, and work tirelessly with insurance companies. Not to mention the faxing, responding to physicians and their office staff, and navigating electronic medical records… all with a warm smile, friendly hello, and enthusiasm to assist the clinical team whenever needed.
Wait, this sounds really familiar. If a PSC at CORA manages a calendar for lots of people, soothes fears or worry, quickly problem solves, multitasks like a champ, makes all the important phone calls, remembers names and details regarding 100’s of acquaintances, keeps things tidy, and puts the needs of everyone around them first, they are essentially the clinic parent. A parent in need of more appreciation!
Professional Growth as a Patient Service Coordinator
Not only do we want to celebrate current Patient Service Coordinators, let’s also use this opportunity to congratulate those who have grown through promotion here at CORA.
While no clinic wants to lose a stellar PSC, we certainly support upward mobility within the company. Here is a list of positions now filled with former CORA PSCs:
- Credentialing and Payer Relations Specialist
- Rapid Referral Coordinator
- Physical Therapy Assistant
- Assistant Trainer
- Marketing & Sales Representative
- Lead Trainer
Celebrating our PSCs with their own Month
Throughout July, we want to shower our pillar PSC team members with gratitude. There will be contests, surprises, and special recognition. Please join us in thanking your PSC the best way you can!
Also, take a few moments to explore our Faces of CORA page to read our PSC stories. These amazing employees have wonderful stories.
Thank you, PSCs, for all that you do. Happy July, and happy Patient Service Coordinator Month!
