Congratulations to our clinics across South Carolina for winning the Outstanding Facility for Clinical Education Award from the Carolina Clinical Education Consortium!
The Carolina Clinical Education Consortium (CCEC) is a group of academic coordinators and directors of clinical education with physical therapy and physical therapy assistant programs in NC and SC. This outstanding facility award is voted on by all the PT and PTA education programs across the Carolinas. The award seeks to honor facilities with a long-term commitment to superior clinical education experiences.
Our SC clinics were nominated by Debbie Brown of the Physical Therapy program at the Medical University of South Carolina. CORA Physical Therapy has hosted 36 MUSC DPT students since our relationship began in 2005. Debbie identified our clinics as upholding the standards that CCEC deems important to the clinical education of Physical Therapists and Physical Therapist Assistants in North and South Carolina:
- Demonstrates long-term commitment to superior service as a clinical site for physical therapist and physical therapist assistant students.
- Provides professional support and training opportunities for professionals serving as clinical instructors.
- Provides superior educational support and clinical learning opportunities to students on clinical rotations.
Additionally, individual therapists within CORA organization are regularly nominated by MUSC students as the Clinical Instructor of the Year. For 2020, clinic manager Rebecca Grider was nominated as Clinical Instructor of the Year. She was nominated by Hannah Western, who shared that, “Rebecca serves to push students to be their best while supporting their learning needs.” A very special shout-out to Rebecca for her exemplary efforts!
